How the Team plan works, shown with fictional people at Northline Bookkeeping. One: Alex Rivera invites sam@northline.example as a reviewer. Two: Alex gives Marcus Lee access to Harbor Mechanical. Three: Alex assigns the Harbor Mechanical to-do “Confirm Q3 sales tax filing date” to Marcus. Four: Marcus ticks it off in his inbox and Alex sees it is done.

Questions

Before you ask.

No. In QuickBooks, Sumlino’s helpers only read what is on your screen and prompt your review: nothing is cleared, posted or recoded for you. Dashboard batch cleanup changes records only after you preview the batch and type a confirmation, and it runs against a sandbox company for now. Reports read the books; they never write to them.

QuickBooks Online, in Chrome. The side panel works beside any QuickBooks Online company you have open. The dashboard connects to a company you authorize for its client overview, Books review, batch cleanup and reports; those connections are still in testing, so they run on sandbox data for now. Xero and QuickBooks Desktop are not supported.

Both. A Chrome extension opens as a side panel beside QuickBooks Online with shortcuts, notes and to-dos, voice notes (pilot) and the reconciliation helper. A web dashboard holds each client’s overview, Books review and batch cleanup, and with Pro, Advisor’s ratios and trends for each client. Month-end reports are built and sent there with Pro+ (coming soon). The extension is installed from us while the Chrome Web Store listing is pending.

A landscape, presentation-style PDF built from the client’s books, coming with Pro+. It opens on a cover with your firm, the client and the month, then gives each section one plain-language headline, a few large numbers and one chart: the KPI scorecard against the targets you set, revenue and margins, cash, the balance sheet and next steps, with the full statements and sign-off in the appendix. You choose the month and basis, fill in what the books cannot supply, review, approve and download.

Yes, with Pro+ (coming soon). Save your firm name, the preparer’s name and a PNG logo once in Settings, and new reports open on a cover with them. A report keeps the branding it was approved with. Client names and figures come from the client’s books; the sample on this page is fictional.

On QuickBooks’ Reconcile page the side panel reads the difference and the loaded rows and shows clues: a line that equals the difference, two lines that add up to it, items dated after the statement, older uncleared items, and a reminder to review once the difference is zero. Find a transaction highlights a row without selecting it, and statement comparison runs on your computer with a workpaper you can export. You tick every line yourself.

Yes, with the Team plan at launch. A firm workspace lets you invite people by email, give each one a role (Admin, Reviewer, Bookkeeper or Viewer), choose which clients they can see, and pass notes and to-dos between inboxes. Everyone signs in with their own account, and the Team plan is priced per seat.

They are saved to your Sumlino account and scoped to you, so they follow you between computers. In a firm workspace, a note or to-do you send goes only to the colleague you choose, and only for clients they can access. The QuickBooks pages you open are read in your browser for the helpers. See the privacy policy for the details.

Starter is free for up to 3 clients, with no card. Pro is $24 a month billed yearly, or $29 month to month; join now and keep the founding price of $15 a month billed yearly for as long as you subscribe. Pro+ (coming soon) adds client reporting for 5 companies at $79 a month billed yearly ($948 a year) or $99 month to month, Pro included. Team is $24 a seat a month billed yearly at launch. Billing and paid reporting have not started, so nothing is charged today.
